The SlimLine CPU module is based on the NXP LPC2387 ARM7 processor. The product firmware is stored into the processor flash memory. To upgrade the firmware you need the Flash Magic program developed by the Embedded System Academy.
Connect the module to the PC by the serial port COM0 (For connection use CBL057 cable and CBL054 accessory). On the CPU module the LK9 jumper (Normal operation) must be shifted on LK1 (Firmware upgrade) position.
Running the program a window appears, it's possible to define all the operating parameters as shown in the figure on the side. Choose the firmware upgrade hex file to upload, and with the CPU module off, click on the Start button and turn on the CPU module.
The upgrade sequences will be initiated, first the microcontroller flash memory will be cleared and then the firmware upload begin. When the upgrade sequencies are done, turn off the CPU module and move the jumper from LK1 (Firmware upgrade) to LK9 (Normal operation) position. Now the CPU module has been upgraded to the new firmware version. |
